Announcement on the revision of a part about “Automotive Diesel Engine Oil Standard (JASO M 355:2008) Application manual ”(2009.07) The JASO Engine Oil Standards Implementation Panel corrected the “Automotive Diesel Engine Oil Standard (JASO M 355:2008) Application manual. As we announced in November 2007, the supply of the TD25 engine, used for piston detergency test (JASO M 336), halted in March 2009. To allow continued evaluation of this parameter, alternative engine tests can be used. Details are given in Appendix 8. Concerning details, please confirm a new manual(DH_E0905.pdf).

Revision of “Automotive Diesel Engine Oil Standard (JASO M 355) Application manual”(2008.04) The JASO Engine Oil Standards Implementation Panel@revises “Automotive Diesel Engine Oil Standard (JASO M 355)Application manual” in accordance with the amendments of Automotive Diesel Engine Oil Standard(JASO M 355:2008). The main points of the revision are as follows. (1) Chlorine limit on the DH-2, DL-1 engine oil is changed. (2) Addition of Mack T-8E and T-11, as alternatives soot dispersancy engine tests. (3) New filing of oil conforming to standard and effective period of on-file. Year of Issuance of the Standard First date when Classification Indication is allowed Last date when new filing is accepted Last date when on-filing is maintained 2000 April 1st, 2001 September 30, 2006 September 30, 2010 2005 October 1st, 2005 July 31, 2008   2008 August 1st, 2008     Reception of a new filing of oil conforming to standard (JASO M 355:2008) can be accepted from the middle of May, 2008.
